Review:

Euro Kids started as one of the first players in the pre-school business in India. So it definitely has a first mover advantage in terms of niche clients, franchise models and years of experience. It has more than 500 pre-schools in India across 180 towns and cities. Thanks to the franchise model!

No doubt many pre-schools in India are today following the same franchise model in a bid to expand its brand and increase the brand recognition but in the process do they take measures to maintain the quality? Each franchise owner has its own ideologies and wants to run the school in his or her own way (after acquiring the brand). This is what they refer to as “local adjustments” in school business terms.

So chances are that a Euro Kids in Aurangabad and a Euro Kids in DLF may have many similarities but they can also have differences too, especially in terms of its fee structure and other infrastructure facilities. Hence I was not very surprised to find a couple (who has recently shifted to Gurgaon from Aurangabad) discussing the fee structure at length in Gurgaon school and asking for “corporate discounts.”

The lady co-ordinator who was present in the school on Saturday promised me to waive off Caution money (which is 1500 and is as such refundable) and when she asked me about my husband’s corporate connections, she straight away offered a 25% discount further on Admission fee! (Learn business from them! ..my hubby would have shouted at me)

Well now lets come to infrastructure part. The school is located in one of the costliest areas of Gurgaon, near Galleria Market and Ridgewood Estate ( it is the same school that was there in DLF I in residential area). It has ample green space, good airy and spacious classrooms with ample colour.

The child gets to spend approximately 3 hours (as in all playschools in Gurgaon). The curriculum offered is Playgroup (below 2 years), pre-Nursery ( 2-3 years), Euro Junior and Euro Senior. And yes this particular branch also has Day care facility.

The student teacher ratio is 1:10 on cards and could waver to 1:15/20.

Fee Structure ( for 2010-2011 session) For Playgroup and Pre-Nursery

Admission Form – 100

Admission Fee – 10,000

Registration Fee – 2000

Caution Money (refundable) – 1500

Annual Charges ( April 2010 to March 2011) – 11,000 ( can be paid in instalments of 2750 quarterly)

Tuition Fee ( p.m) – 2500

Transport Facility – max 1000 monthly

Admission Procedure:

Please submit 3 photographs of the child

Copy of birth certificate

Immunization chart

Set of clothes

Review of Euro Kids Pre-School is very well written. Just wanted to know if you they have any branches in Delhi?

dont know about phase 4 but had a bad experience with euro kids palam vihar.

Thanks for stopping by my blog Megha. Where is your kid studying now?

Hi Megha,

I am thinking of sending my child to Eurokids Palam Vihar. As she is not talking as others children do, even she doesn’t say Mama and Papa, she is now 20 months old. I am worried, so sending her it to eurokids. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Veena

hi,
i have had a very bad experience with this outlet. Also for information the outlet has broken off with eurokids and started on their own. The persons running it were and are more interested in money and nothing else.

if i had a chance to work then Euro Kids is my best option as only in this school a lot of attention is given to “parents”

I just wanted to clarify the teacher /student ratio
it is 1:10 isnt it ?
I will be transfering my son , and i hear that the new school is bending it to 1:15 . so in a class of 30 thats pretty crowded and obviously less attention . god knows about the maid .i hear they have only one for all the 30 .
i relaly need to know this info .
need to know if i shud complain .

Dear Ann

This is what I was told when i visited the school for review. I am not too sure how strictly they follow the same. It would be a great idea to just drop in the school at working hours and do a surprise check.

i’m thinking of sending my daughter to kinder valley as renamed from euro kids.. Shud i or not? pls suggest me sum reasonable pre school nearby sushant lok 1 c block.. Very boggled over the options

Dear Komal
Sushant Lok 1 has many options wrt to schools. You can choose between Indus World School and Shikshantar. Both are equally good options. Euro Kids too is a good school but if your daughter is 3 plus – send her to a bigger school than a playschool. Sorry no idea on Kinder Valley school. Best way to know about a school is – talk to paretns of the kids on a Parent Teacher meet. Go to a school on saturday and talk to parents in parking lot! they know the best.

On Mothers Pride – Yes its true, Mothers Pride has mixed reviews. Some parents I have come accross really appreciate the school for its curriculum and the way they handle kids. While others feel they charge a lot, have high fee, are too commercial and lack good teachers.

I agree on this part of commercialisation. They spend so much on marketing and advertisement, have sales team dedicated to selling admissions to kids, bargaining with parents on how much money they can save if they book the admission in advance ( even when the kid is born in hospital you start receiving such msgs!) and not a single word on kind of curriculum they follow – weather montessorie or playway…what teaching mechanism they have, how teachers are trained..nothing is explained to us in meeting..only money talks! This was my experience..Sorry if it puts you down..but some parents differ completely…! To each its own.
Regards

i visited indus world school but its too early to comment on it i suppose.. There were not many students also.. Wasnt quite impressed but will visit shikshantar soon.. Thanks.. Thinking of asking a refund from mothers pride.. I hope they give it back

My child is in Kinder Valley School and in their Day Care as well and I am completely satisfied with the way he is learning and growing up. The Teachers are awesome and the Principal, Mrs. Narain, is excellent. She has an experience of 38 years. The Student Teacher ratio wavers between 1:8 to 1: 10. The facilities are wonderful with large open areas and play areas and colourful ambience. They keep a low profile and do not believe in much advertising. The best thing is they are managed by a Society (so they are not money minded) and are on a notified School Site and not in residential premises. Go to their website kindervalley.in and check out the parent comments.

I am considering putting my 3.5 yrs kid in Kinder Valley School. Can you share your experience – I am specially concerned that they have a big playground and regarding method of teaching as I am looking for a school where learning things is more hands on through actual experiences. Also equal emphasis is placed on social skills – can you provide feedback regarding this.

Please don’t get your child admitted in Euro Kids palam Vihar Gurgaon Branch. They have an uncompetent staff, unreliale transport, change teacher in mid session. The Principal is very Egoist, she looks friendly when you admit your child in school, later she don’t even talk to Parents properly. The management is very greedy and by some or the other means increase fees every now and then.

This new branch of euro kids at B1 Paschim vihar , is a beautiful centre with a huge splash pool and sand pit area, which my child just adores. The centre staff is very friendly and educated. and my daughter just cant get enough of the beautiful doll castle.
The learning techniques are good and effective…m glad I opted to send my daughter to EUROKIDS…it is truly an international experience

.

I agree.. the new branch is excellent! the curriculum is pretty good and the teachers are very understanding and sweet. events are celebrated in a big way.. my daughter is also having too much of fun and she looks forward to going to school. And their infrastructure is definitely a plus point as well.

One could easily see that Preschool Owners/Principals/Coordinators/Franchisees are themselves writing the reviews and so-called right minded Gurgaon parents are easily fooled (e.g. read the reviews of Raj, Sandy etc). Fact is none of the gurgaon preschool are having any kind of curriculum. Poor child is maltreated by parents in home so ends up enjoying some moment in preschool campus. Also, see the foolishness of parents Toys and Dolls means good education ha ha ha …God save this nation …

Attention all parents of toddlers, if you are working in shifts and are looking for an alternative for babysitting, well I am glad to introduce a Day and NIght child care.
Its address is in Gurgaon sector 57 sushant lok 3.My little one also goes here.

Has been said education is the key of success and knowledge is the light of life. Sometimes we always hesitate to take a right decision for admission in school. I will suggest for those who has tired to find a best school in Gurgaon. Come towards MatriKiran a well equipped society for kids. It is an English medium, co-educational school for grades pre-nursery to 12. It has two campus in Gurgaon. 1.the Primary Wing, Sohna Road and 2. the Middle and Senior Wings, NH-8
