Summers are here and so are the organizers of summer camps! Going by the number of summer camp options available to us now, one would often wonder, why schools have summer vacations. Why not all the schools make summer camps mandatory so you don’t have to look out for various options outside?

These days almost all schools offer summer camps but many parents feel it would be a good option if they try and look for summer camps outside their schools to give their kids more exposure.

There are basically two main types of summer camps. The first kind is a “day camp” where the kids or participants come during the day and return home in the afternoon or evening. The second type is an “overnight camp” which can last for a week or more. designation is “sleep away” or overnight camp. Either kind of camp can last from a single day up to one week or more.

Most day time of “day camps” focus on writing, story telling, aerobics, swimming, taekwando, karate, sports, horse riding, puppets, theatre, dance, boxing, music, handwriting improvement, art classes, painting, chocolate making, cooking and many more activities.

The “overnight summer camps” usually explore the adventurous side of kids and include backpacking, biking, fishing, rock climbing, survival  and even whitewater rafting.

Whatever your choice be, summer camps definitely give your kids a chance to break the monotony of his daily school life and learn something new thus providing a good platform to develop the child’s hidden talent.

About – Choko La holds a summer workshop for children on how to make chocolate, cupcakes and cookies. Children get snacks and beverages; the cost is included in the workshop fee. Each child will also get an individual baking kit, with an apron, cap, rolling pin, cutter and piping bag.
