Email: mail@bombayinternationalschool.com

Review: Bombay International School was established in 1962 by a group of parents who believed that education is a true learning process and not a structured way of imparting information.  The key to learning was and is a small class size and a very high teacher – student ratio of 1 teacher to 15 students.

There are no exams in Junior School (Standards I – IV).  The child’s progress is recorded through worksheets and projects.  In the middle school (Standards V – VII), the children are expected to work consistently throughout the year.  There are review tests at regular intervals which add up to a letter grade.  These classes have only one Annual Examination. Standards VIII and IX follow the Cambridge IGCSE Curriculum, which is challenging and application oriented. There is great joy in learning through experiential methods. Std. X will appear for the ICSE Exam.

Hi Nidhi

Thanks for you valuable suggestions. We are still in the process of generating the list as you may understand that Mumbai is huge and has a huge database of schools. This is just Part II of the many series on Mumbai Schools. I would request you to pls keep guiding us through your valuable inputs. Also let us know which all schools, according to you are best in Mumbai. Looking forward to hear from you.

Keep coming back for more on Mumbai Schools this week.

Hi,

I’m looking for admission for my daughter in LKG for the year 2012-2013. We’re going to be living in Andheri, and I wanted to know if there were any reviews on the Vissanji Academy and Pushpa Vissanji Nursery School? I’m unable to find much details on the net. Thanks!!

Warm Regards
Deepa

My Child is 1 1/2 yrs old -, I m looking out for a appropriate ICSE school for him betwn Andheri -e To Kandivali ( e )

holy family and government school have been not added what is this

I think the source of info is very wrong…best schools like Lilavatibai Podar and Jamnabaiand even Cathedral

I have read all the views of the parents. I think we all should guide parenting fundas and also applaud for their effort . rather than commenting at their source of info as the list of best schools will change with time and we should value opinions. A school which you think is best might not be suitable to the other person.
So its best to guide parenting fundas as ther are doing a good job …. cheers

Do please include the fees charged by these schools on a per month / sem / year basis, and information on capitation fees also. That would help parents take informed decision on what school to choose..

Hi, You are doing a great job in giving extensive info about different schools. Could you give some reviews regarding schools in chembur like Gregorios, St Anthony’s etc. Looking forward to your suggestions. Thanks.

Campion School has not been added to this list. It is the no.2 school in mumbai in many surveys. This list is horrible.

Dear All,

This can be a valuable platform for parents; particularly those who are new to Mumbai, seeking advise on admissions.

My son is 4.5 years old and am looking for his schooling; somewhere close to Bandra. Will be grateful of members on providing their inputs on:

1) What are the likely schools which I may look up for admissions. Indication of the boards viz. CBSE, ICSE, State, etc. they follow will be helpful.
2) My son’s DOB is 01Jan08. He should be going to UKG level ideally. But I understand that schools may have their own cut-off date criterion. Any indications?
3) I am already late for this session. Which school may consider a transfer case?
4) Any suggestions on going about for admission in Bombay Scottish will be welcome.

Thanking you all in advance.

Warm Regards
Vishal
