French Flower Beading is a special style of bead craft that goes back centuries to the European Renaissance. This craft helps you to create stunning three-dimensional floral art. A relatively simple technique that looks simply amazing, French beaded flowers is used for making lovely jewelry, home décor items, bouquet additions, inserts in bridal bouquets, bridal headdresses, hair barrettes, pins, napkin rings, corsages, “potted” plants, 3-D pictures and wall hangings etc.

Bead flowers can be used in every way you use silk or fresh flowers, the only difference is that it will be many, many years before bead flowers deteriorate. The art of bead flower-making is very old, but is new all over again!

Review of Bal Bharati Public School: The school is well known for its excellence in every field. Spread over more than 4 acres of land, it is a multi-story building provides spacious and airy classrooms as well as modern facilities. The classrooms are equipped with LCD screens and computers. The school has installed effective learning modules/software developed by the professionals. The teachers make effective use of these modules in the classroom to enhance the learning process. This not only helps in concept-clarity but also in better retention of the topics taught in the class.

These learning modules project the content or the subject matter in an appealing manner and generate interest among the learners.

The LCD screens have become an imperative tool in the classroom. Use of interactive media has actually helped the students to focus in the classroom and perform better. The interesting audio-visual clippings used by the teachers cater to the students of different learning-styles. All the subjects are taught efficiently with the help of the smart-class capsules.

From Wikipedia – Bal Bharati Public School (BBPS) ranks high among the premier progressive schools in the country. An eminent philanthropist, the Late Padma Vibhushan Lala Hansraj Gupta along with his fellow luminaries founded the parent body, the Child Education Society. His dream of establishing an educational institution was realized when Bal Bharati Public School came into existence more than six decades ago. The school spread over 6 acres (24,000 m2) of prime land, is housed in two wings one at Pitampura and the other at Ganga Ram Hospital Marg. It is today one of the most distinguished members of the child Education Society and has played a pivotal role in setting up other Bal Bharati Schools at the national level.

The phenomenal success and the high growth trajectory that Bal Bharati has displayed in recent times can be largely attributed to the sagacious and inspiring leadership of Mr. K. K. Khullar, President, Child Education Society and Chairman of the school.

Review of Goodley Public School: The School was established on 2nd July, 1979 in Shalimar Bagh, Delhi.. Dr. G.D. Singh & Mrs. S. Singh are the founder members of this prestigious project. It was their unique endless efforts and hard work which resulted in successfully putting their aim to establish the school in a very practical shape. The School was upgraded to the secondary level in 1988 and was affiliated to CBSE. It achieved its next goal of up-gradation up to Sr. Secondary level in 1989 in a huge and spacious building with all basic infrastructures.

GPS is a school with classes from Pre-Nursery to XII. Time of announcement for admission to different classes : Admission in various classes are taken as per schedule given :-

Pre-Nursery, Nursery & K.G . classes – October-November

- age group 2½+,  & 4½ respectively as on I April of the session through advertisement in the Newspaper.

Other Classes – March - Admission notice is put up at the notice board.

Classes X & XII – No outsiders are generally taken in these classes.

Class XI for External candidates – June -

Through advertisement in the newspaper. Selection is purely on the ground of merit of CBSE result and performance in the written test & interview.

Pre-Primary

With 2500 to 3000 applications for admission to the first entry class to GPS, that is, the Pre-Primary class, it is really a difficult task to select children for 200 seats . Nothing can be more taxing & damaging for a child of this age to face an interview & be rejected. Keeping this in mind, GPS has brought adequate changes in the admission criteria. According to the Director of the school, Dr. G.D. Singh, the School and students can only make the due progress with a cordial back up & support of the Parents so that the two educating agencies work hand in hand & the child does not suffer from any basic conflict in the norms & values sought to be inculcated. So the school looks forward for those children whose parents believe in its philosophy and the education it seeks to impart and will support the child in his/her endeavours, whether academic or co-curricular.

Admission to meritorious students from classes I to IX

are made only if there are vacancies in the above mentioned classes. Students have to give a written test plus interview. On qualifying the written test they have to appear for an interaction interview. Goodley Public School has made its progress through leaps & bounces under the patronage of Goodley Public School Educational Society which was registered in 1981.

Many of us hear daily about the benefits of breastfeeding and how it should be encouraged by mothers and how healthy it is. It is a universally accepted fact that no milk can even come close to breast milk. But sometimes, mothers introduce bottle/formula milk to their kids for one of the other reason as follows:

1. Mother has to join office after her maternity leave gets over and hence has no other choice but to give formula milk.

2. Mother suffers from matitis or sore nipples.

3. Is ill and suffers from some infectious disease that can pass to baby ( read AIDS, Hepatitis A)

4. For their own comfort. Let’s accept this – Isn’t bottle feeding more comfortable than breastfeeding alone. The best option is – Bottle feeding plus breasfeeding. The baby will get both the benefits.

So here are the tips to bottle feeding:

Bottle / Formula Feeding

Experts say that babies should be breastfed exclusively for the first 6 months. Beyond that, breastfeeding until at least 12 months is encouraging, and longer if both the mother and baby are willing.

Although experts believe breast milk is the best nutritional choice for infants, breastfeeding may not be possible for all women, especially for those who have to return to work or have another kid to look after.

For mothers who are unable to breastfeed or who decide not to, infant formula is a good alternative. Some women feel guilty if they don’t breastfeed. But if you feed your baby with a commercially prepared formula, be assured that your baby’s nutritional needs will be met.

Things to Keep In Mind

•Babies who aren’t breast-fed must only have formula milk – ordinary cow’s milk is not suitable.
•It’s important to keep all feeding equipment clean by sterilising between uses. This is because formula fed babies don’t get the same protection from infection as breast-fed babies.

•Bottle-feeding with formula milk, or with expressed breast milk, gives mother’s flexibility when they go back to work.

•However you feed your baby, you and your baby will love spending the time together. Hold your baby close when you’re bottle-feeding, and enjoy it.

Bottle Feeding Tips

•Hold your baby close, and make sure the teat is always filled (this reduces the amount of air-swallowing).

•Every so often, you’ll need to take the teat out of your baby’s mouth as the sides stick together and prevent a good flow.

Wriggling, crying and pushing the teat out with the tongue may mean your baby needs sitting up to get rid of wind.

Do not leave your baby unattended while they are drinking from a bottle.

If your baby’s fully or mostly bottle-fed, you may find it easier to make up all the infant formula you’ll need for the next 24 hours, and keep it in bottles in the fridge.

In India, the labelling of Infant Foods and Infant Formula was governed before 1992 by the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act. 1954 (PFA). Nestlé India was complying with the requirements of this Act.

In 1992, the Government promulgated a new law entitled Infant Milk Substitutes, Feeding Bottles and Infant Foods (IMS) Act, which also addressed, among others, labelling of infant foods and infant formulae. This additional regulation came into force while the PFA was maintained.

Feeding and Burping Your Baby

Whether feeding your newborn by breast or a bottle, it’s recommended that babies be fed on demand — whenever they seem hungry. Your baby may give signal by crying, putting fingers in his or her mouth, or making sucking noises.

A newborn baby needs to be fed every 2 to 3 hours. If you’re breastfeeding, give your baby the chance to nurse about 10–15 minutes at each breast. If you’re formula-feeding, your baby will most likely take about 2–3 ounces (60–90 milliliters) at each feeding.

Try burping your baby every 2 to 3 ounces (60–90 milliliters) if you bottle-feed, and each time you switch breasts if you breastfeed. If your baby tends to be gassy, has gastroesophageal reflux, or seems fussy during feeding, try burping your baby every ounce during bottle-feeding or every 5 minutes during breastfeeding.

The following are burping strategies:

•Hold your baby upright with his or her head on your shoulder. Support your baby’s head and back while gently patting the back with your other hand.

•Sit your baby on your lap. Support your baby’s chest and head with one hand by cradling your baby’s chin in the palm of your hand and resting the heel of your hand on your baby’s chest (be careful to grip your baby’s chin – not throat). Use the other hand to gently pat your baby’s back.

•Lay your baby face-down on your lap. Support your baby’s head, making sure it’s higher than his or her chest, and gently pat or rub his or her back.

If your baby doesn’t burp after a few minutes, change the baby’s position and try burping for another few minutes before feeding again. Always burp your baby when feeding time is over, then keep him or her in an upright position for at least 10–15 minutes to avoid spitting up.

Formula Milk Availabilty In India:

Enfamil, Similac and Nestle brand of baby formula is widely available and you can get it from any Supermarket or Pharmacy chains.

Most Parents use Lactogen ( 1, 2,3 ) of NAN ( 1, 2,3) for their kids tilll 1 year. Then they introduce them to cow’s milk slowly.  For kid’s above one year, one also gets Pediasure, Enfamil and even soy-based milk like Silk easily in India now.  talk to your baby’s doctor before making the final decission.
