Review:

Manav Rachna International School (MRIS) was initially known as Amadues school management. The new management of MRIS has taken over the school from the old management in 2009 following which the school has undergone re-branding in appearance of the building, school uniform, advertisement campaigns, holding workshops in various malls etc etc.

We went to see this school after we daily use to get their 5-page brochures (MRIS Times something) with our newspaper. They also organized a small workshop for kids in one of the malls (Sahara mall or nearby malls I guess) where the parents were asked to get their kids along and taught about various aspects of pre-schooling, its importance, their curriculum and much more.

The minimum age for the child to get admission into the school is 2.5 years as on March 31, 2010. This is for their pre-nursery. They also have a junior school till class 3 in Sector 51, Mayfield Garden, Gurgaon. We were asked to get our kid admitted to this branch as all the seats in their Sec 46 branch were “full.” It was just March 13 yesterday!

The school has good infrastructure. This branch follows CBSE pattern and affiliated to this board. You can know more details here –

http://sector46.gurgaon.mris.edu.in/academics/curriculum/

Since this is not just a pre-school, they did not show us around like other schools do. A very basic approach was followed, we talking to administration who handled us the brochure, the fee-structure, told us about the school timings, bus facilities etc.

The school does have good green space for kids and play area for toddlers, swimming pool, computer labs, Indoor and outdoor activities- table tennis, carom, billiards, pool, chess, cricket, football, basketball, skating, taekwondo, lawn tennis, gymnastics. .For more details see this link http://sector46.gurgaon.mris.edu.in/facilities/

hopeless shool, managemt & even tachers
was good till they have teachers of Amadeus i.e. till K.G. after wards feel the taste of Manav rachna
Do not even think about it

Mr.Arun,
I feel that before passing any comment on any Institution one should do some research. As per me and my friends whose kids are studying in Manav Rachna, this is the best school in NCR. Management, Principal,Teachers, transport are all praiseworthy in their approach. I am personally so impressed that I plan to put my younger one also in this school.
Great Going! Manav Rachna. All the best. Wish You all the success in taking care and educating of our kids.

well sail mr sonal

Hi Sonal,
I am Ritu . I also want to send my daughter in the same school .So Can u pls tell me about school other activites take place for nursery student as principal said at the time of interaction.pls write in detail

It is not hopeless…..it actually depends on ur child…how much he studies……and the management of studies…is verry nice…I DON’T THINK SO U’LL FIND BETTER MANAGEMENT THAN THIS…

very bad scul.we asked for the music instruments and din got yyet
hopeless
our principal and av bhalla also promised but din do anything
i did a mistake cumin to this scul

aisi koi baat nahi hai
haan teachers ko 11th ko padana nahi aata
par ismain principal kya galti
aur instruments wali baat to thik hai

Yaar…which ambuj r u????
he never begs…

ambuj you have no instruments at home that you are asking the school to get it.

school is gud

they are a school which can either teach you a lot or teach you nothing

It’s true…

I was thinking of getting my daughter’s admission done to this school. I have taken the feedback from the parents of the kids who are already going to school. I have not even got a single negative feedback.

I have heard that they really take pain to teach the child. Yes, the point where you really need to think for is the fees structure. The fees is too high.

Guys the ambuj above is a fake 1 i dont write the way its writn dere and i am very happy wid the skul and i hav no complaints d skul is doing its best 2 provide us wid facilities and principal is the best and al d the teachers are very gud and very cooperative So i dont hav any complaints and d above ambuj is nt d real 1!!!!!!!!!

Yaaar….mujhe bilkul nahi lagta….it is nice but not that much good…..

Tina mam as being the vice head boy of the skul i vil advice u that there kant be a betr skul than mris they teach they make us grow in al directions wid main focus on studies and abt the fees structure mam the skul is providing us wid international infrastructure and at this fees it is very much acceptable and no other skul is providing it at the same cost very few skuls hav this kind of infrastructure !!
So frm my view this skul is the best for ur child!!!!

Its really a very good school. Good infrastructure. Teachers took pain to interact with each and every child.

not a good school for kids, teaches are not well qualified and experienced , teaching method is very poor. Teachers don’t take any pain to interact with each and every child.

& also fee stucture is high,

can somebody tell me abt the fee structure

It’s given up>>>

My kid will get admissions in pre-nursery for next session. Can anyone suggest which branch is better?Sec 46 or sec 51?
Please help.

My son studies in sector 46 school, infra and teachers – so far experience good. But internal coordination/ system not great or yet to mature. For eg, School ID card took 3 months to come. After that critical contact details like phone nos were wrong inspite of we updating school on time. Is it general Gurgaon schools phenomenon or specific to MRIS, not sure.

Hi.
I went to the annual fuction today. As usual noone checked the escort ID card while we took our kid out of the school. It could be a stranger holding my kids hand and walking out of the school. Also i have always seen kids driving down in cars and other vehicles to school. While i try to make my kids do the right thing by learning to drive after 17 yrs age, the school totally allows kids to drive in to school which is not appreciated.
Thanks,
Chhavi

vry true, dis happen vd me as well…

hi dis is riddhi, i jst cant understand abt their concept of STATIONARY… they jst put a list of oll stationary on d board .det they will provide to our child ..bt how do we know det our child is using or not….this is not done:((

I agree Chhavi. Infact I took a friend’s child from her class after the annual function and no one questioned me. Also having the annual day on 2 different days for toddlers to 2nd and 3rd to 12th standard was a pain for working parents like us who have 2 kids in these 2 groups. I strongly feel that this school thinks the parents are idle and can show up anytime the school wants. School must be considerate for parents of 2 kids who had to attend the annual function on 2 days, spending 3-4 hours in school on both days, listening to the same speeches from the Principal, Sunny and OP Bhalla. Can someone imagine our ordeal!! Also the extortion money they take in the name of costume is also quiet high as compared to the costume provided, which cannot be reused ever. But looking at the extravagant arrangements for stage and lights at the function, one could make out what the costume money was for.

This was just about the annual day..i can go on for various academic related issues with this school and the teacher’s competence.

hi
mris is a good school my both kids study here but i must say
school should mantain disipline too like regular checking of school
uniform, nails checking, hair cuts etc my son told me children are bringing i.pods to school ,even mobiles
these kind of things should be controlled for sake of other students.

madam .I wish to start the sports summer camp in your school for Basketball and Badminton and can coordinate coaches for gymnastics and soccer and cricket. if you permit plz do let me know. I am a sports teacher with a highly reputed school in delhi.

Hi, My son is coming frm St George’s Mussoorie, Do you think MRIS would be a good school for him? How ‘s the school in sports? My son has been a sports champ.

I am looking for my daughter to join in Std 9.
Can someone give a feedback?

May i get some recent feedback on MRIS Sector 46 Gurgaon vis-a-vis discipline standards, academic standards and quality of sports/extra curricular activities?
I am planning to shift my boys ( STD 5 and 9) from Don Bosco Alaknanda Delhi to MRIS Sect 46 as I an moving to Gurgaon.

We have shifted Gurgaon recently and searching schools for my son 6th std. I would like to know which school will be good for him. Manav Rachna or Ryan internationl Gurgaon. We are confused, which school is good. Our focus is study not extra-curricular activities. As both of us are working, we do not have time to teach our son. Parents have given different views.

my son has just passed his nursery from MRIS….the school is good in terms of infrastructure, extracurricular activities and personality development but he had a tough time dealing with academics….as the syllabus is huge where right in nursery the child is taught from 1-100, greater than, less than., wht comes before and after..and to make things worse cursive letters are introduced along with sleeping and standing lines..and a child who is still developing his motor skills struggles to make those complicated cursive patterns….but i suppose it majorly depends upon the teacher concerned….and in my case i was forced by the teacher to make my son study completely at home…as she could not do it because in the class she had ” 30 kids to look after” as she quoted it…and since i am the parent and at the receiving end….i had to struggle with the child to keep him at par with others.
i m just keeping my fingers crossed for the coming session.

I m looking for a pre-nursery school for my 2.9 yrs old daughter and I have reserved seat for MRIS Sec-51 and Lotus Valley International gurgaon… can somebody pls help me to choose one from above two…

Thanks,
San

hi san,
i am looking for same but i think MIRS is better than Lotus valley. if you have found better please let me nkow.

My Son studies at the MRIS-51,
Rather than being to supportive or straight out-righting, i’d like to present a humble review of various aspects of the school which could be assistive to admission seeking parents.

NB: It is my personal view and opinion varies from every ones view.

School visit prior admission : 5/5, they showed us around well explaining everything to our satisfaction.

Admission procedure: 4/5 in the procedure. It was simple, flexible to dates and co-ordinated one rather than a complex structured one and there seemed no goof ups in intimation and phone calls etc.

First days: 5/5 The first couple of days for the freshers were well organized and my son didn’t feel homesick at all and got used to the new arrangement of transport and the new environment.

Academics: 3/5 The syllabus which as per their claim of being standard could be true but i am not satisfied at that front. They can be more pro-active and teach to the students capacity. It’s lagging behind several schools but i’ve heard similar stories from other reputed schools in GGN too.

Class room Activities: 4/5 for the infrastructure and 3/5 for the actual involvement of students in it. I would like to make a point here that most of the activities are to be done by parents which could have been the other way around rather.

Sports: 4/5 for infrastructure and 2/5 for actual involvement. It is just a couple of months and i would like to wait and watch on this whether with time they really begin teaching the kids in some activities or not.
As of now it is just go and have fun on your own with restrictions.

Daily Feedback: 4/5 for the arrangement for the same and 3/5 for the actual interest in the same.
There is an almanac through which we communicate daily with the teacher in writing and on quite a few occasions i have seen information missing and have seen back date pasting of information also.
Queries posted and information requested have seen being ignored and answered with an indifferent attitude which really can turn you off on the expectations when you are paying high fees.

Parents Teacher meeting: 3/5, have been to once in the first month.
Timings weren’t well organized and there was a rush of sort.
Teacher seemed to just do away with the session rather than it being a constructive one. Was able to meet only the class teacher and could not manage to meet the other activity teachers.
Waiting to attend the second meeting and hoping to see better and constructive interaction.

Transport: 5/5. We are fully satisfied with the infrastructure, back ups, quality and the arrangement.

Overall: 4/5. I am satisfied.

it being just a couple of months which were also the initial months, i have reasons to believe and to expect better and rewarding school time for my son in the coming months and hopefully years.

Hi ,

need a help from the parents who have experinced MRIS-46 and Lotus valley ,which one is better ,i went to both the schools ,Lotus valley infrstrasture is excellent ,i should rate them 5/5 ,it looks more of a 5star hotel ,MRIS is good infrastructur wise i should rate 3/5 ,but it looks like a school rather then a hotel ,Lotus is CBSE and MRIS is ICSE till 5th std ,i think Borad should be in CBSE ,so pls help here in taking a wise decision.

I am on the same boat as you Mr. Jatinder, confused between LVIS and MRIS. So what did you eventually decide?

Hi I have recently shifted to Gurgaon 4 mths back .My son goes to class -3 in MRIS 46. I have similar opinion as above. On the face of it – the infrastructure, the admission procedure all look great, however on the acdemic front i really find it lagging… IPC is a good cirriculum, but i don;t find teacher pulling it in right directions. My son was a topper in his last school… here he is not finding the study pattern good… the concepts are not amde clear during the calsswork and I have to teach him everything at home.

my child is studying at MRIS ….he is struggling hard to cope up with the syllabus…i chose MRIS believing that it will be a school that falls between heritage, shikshantar and schools like DPS , Amity….but to my surprise, the syllabus of Nursary and KG is very radical and experimental and i have found out that no other school is that advance in terms of syllabus. (MRIS also admits this fact and takes pride in it )
HAVE A LOOK:

NURSERY
: Phonics are done ONLY ON PAPERS as the actual stress is on writing cursive english right from the begining when the child holds a pencil for the first time. one week was spent on standing and sleeping lines and straight away letter L (both capital and cursive small) was introduced…there is no need to explain what all 3.5 years old children went through (my son is not the only one)…further i was constantly asked by school authorities to pressurise my child to write within the lines…by the way i also got a note from the school emphasising the importance of good handwriting…
RESULT:
when children in other schools were learning sounds of the alphabets and its use, my child was busy developing fine motor skills which he could have learnt later anyways without getting worked up.

KG:
Introduction of CVC (three letter)words till september(the child is supposed to know phonics on his own) and then sentences…
they are expected to be able write bombarding words like :astronaut, helicopter and if the child is unable to do it …..PSYCHOTHERAPY is suggested. Luckily i happen to know a psychotherapist and she says that school authorities should be given psychotherapy instead.

Dear Shweta
I completely agree with you. I went through exactly same situation with my kid in Shalom Hills International school, with focus being on only writing – cursive, vowels etc and no such clarity of thought. Frankly I was pissed off. My baby used to wake up at 6 am and study till 2 pm in school ( she was in KG and is only 4 ) and use to reach home tired and exhausted by 3 pm. Had 2 homeworks daily. I hated this. I started searching for better schools and have now shifted her Mid-session. She is now in Nursery in Shriram Global School near galleria. ( she is nov 2007 born) and i cant be happier. She is learning phonics. Eg – C is cuh and is taught as curly cuh . K is kuh and is taught as kicking kuh. She is enjoying it. No stress on written work. She is enjoying her studies. Even though it meant more stress on us financially but we are happy.

Can someone please provide some latest updates. We are moving from mumbai to ncr and my kids will now go to jr.kg and 3rd.

hi manish, you can try lotus valley, presidium, shalom presidency

Hi,
I want to know about the performance of MRIS and Suncity as I want to get my daughter admitted in Nursery school as I am moving from Bangalore to Gurgaon. Can any one help?

Regards
Kapil

Hi. This is Emaad, Student Mris-46. I as a student personally believe that for a child what is more important in a school is actually ‘Teacher Student Contact’ and I can very proudly claim that our teachers have that very capabilities to identify and groom talents. As far as infrastructure and other things are required, I think that we dont miss out anything. Soon we will also be having an International Shooting Range here at our campus. A perfect example of a great management at mris is my success at International platforms in Dubai, Germany and various parts of the country. The management under the leadership of our Chairman is working round the clock to ensure our better future.

No matter how many schools have opened in Gurgaon. The kind of ambience MRIS gives to the child is impeccable.
Right from pre school / kindergarden.Children are taught about healthy food.No junk food is entertained in lunch boxes.little habits like save paper , plant trees etc.are adapted by the children in early years.
I have seen flashy schools with flamboyant infrastruture serving burgers for lunch to kids .Eventually kids can’t resist their cravings for fries , pizzas.
MRIS has balanced approach towards studies & sports. You name the sport or interest of your child. They have the essential infrastructure.
The conceptual clarity is key to smart study.MRIS makes the child learn & absorb the concepts in a very smooth yet pro active style.Children don’t get bored and become curious at the same time.
As you go in the higher classes.Teachers focus on academics. No child is ignored.More time is dedicated to budding future.Saturdays also teachers sit with students for concepts and doubts are clarified.
At parent teachers meet .One can see teachers really know their students.Children so far have been descent in MRIS.I didn’t see a single child using abusive language in MRIS.
I have seen Sri ram school, G.D.Goenka school kids (8yrs-10yrs) take no time using the F.. word.

I don’t think one can ask for more.MRIS is a genuine combination of academics and activities

A message must go to the people to avoid sending their children to schools like Manav Rachna International, Gurgaon. And shame on the principal of Manav Rachna, Dhriti Malhotra, she says the incident is old and she took action. Pls see Times of India Gurgaon dated 30th August 2013, how can such an incident be taken so lightly, you are encouraging hooliganism in schools. This needs escalation, you are playing with the career of the bright youth of today. Swarandeep Singh 9560800559

Hi,
Recently, MRIS organized an event in our residential society in crossing republic, ghaziabad. In that, they conducted various competitions for diff. age group. There was complete chaos and mismanagement. Even the school coordinators present there were so rude and the way they were communicating, it was hard to believe that they were representing some reputed international school.

The worst part was that when i reached to the venue along with my kid for painting competition; their drawing sheets were already finished and instead of explaining me about this situation, they took my kid to other venue for some stupid activity without my permission. I was frantically searching my daughter and no one bothered to help me out, Coordinators gave me very casual responses like ” we are not responsible for it” . When, finally I started screaming and yelling in front of other parents, the school principal who was present there suddenly woke up !!!!!. She intervened and then some teachers came forward with various excuses and requested me not to push the the matter further as other parents were also there. Finally, I found my daughter after 1.1/2 hrs.

It was scary & frightening experience ….. PATHETIC SCHOOL !!!!!!!

how disgusting, how can teachers be so irresponsible, these schools are only to make more monies…
